~*~::{Reading Blog #5: The Unspeakable Odyssey of the Motionless Boy}::~*~

For this reading blog post, I read the finale of "The Unspeakable Odyssey of the Motionless Boy" by Joshua Foer.  What this story is about is a boy that became paralyzed in a car accident, unable to move or make any actions whatsoever but move his eyeballs around.  Only able to answer 'yes' or 'no' to questions asked by people,  doctors wanted to make his life as normal as possible trying to rehabilitate him.
They put glass shards and wires into his brain.  With practice, patience, and open-minds, he was able to begin translating his actual thoughts into letters and words allowing him to converse with people.
With practice and patience, people were helping Erik with his problems and were allowing him a second chance at life by interpreting his thoughts into letters and those letters into words.

With open minds?

It makes it sound like he has multiple minds!

...I couldn't help it!

It bothered me XD

"...every inch of me shall perish. Every inch, but one. An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us..."
